Now that I have left the academic podium and am relatively free, I felt it was time to meet a new readership by supplementing the original edition, *Revisiting Korean History*, which was published over twenty years ago and has been consistently read ever since. Thus, writing this fourth edition with a sense of great relief, I have written about exactly what and how academic history, government-commissioned history, and clan and religious history have taught incorrectly; this book is the result. While there are certainly parts of this book worthy of praise, I am well aware that it will likely face tremendous resistance. I ask readers to first take a close look at the table of contents.
