It started when I unintentionally encountered the Suryukjae at Jingwansa Temple; due to my extremely shallow knowledge of Buddhism, I watched the ritual without much thought. Having limited knowledge of intangible heritage, I joined in viewing Suryukjae as such, visiting the sites of Buddhist rituals while patching together and supplementing my limited knowledge. In this process, I encountered Suryukjae at Jingwansa, Samhwasa, Baegunsa, and Daljeonsa, as well as the Gangsang Suryukjae performed on the Baekmagang River in Buyeo.
