There is a difference between reading a difficult classic that only the top few can understand and the many books in the city that are claimed to be humanities education and what Charlotte calls humanities training. To read hard to understand books we have to take lectures from the comments person, which, according to Charlotte's contention, is a harmful way to dull the mind.
